Hi. I was an AFS foreign exhange student in Star Lake in 1989/1990. I stayed with the Piiparinen family. I had a great stay in the US and learned so much about the country, people, the world and about myself. After returning to Norway in 1990, I finished Norwegian High School and went into officer training in the Norwegian army. After that I went to university for 6 years, gaining a law degree. I now work as a lawyer in a small law firm in BodA, (about 50,000 inhabitants) in northern Norway.
I am married and have 3 boys ages 2, 3 and 7. I sure will try to motivate them to spend some time abroad.
I regularly reflect upon my stay in Star Lake and greatly appreciate the experience I had there. I still have contact with some friends from school and I have been back a couple of times. My good friend, Adam Heller, has even visited us in Norway twice.
Best wishes from
