Kid recieved a certificate and a free book for participating. The event took place in the school's new All-Purpose Wing on a Saturday in April. There were a variety of stations that the students went to, where they listened to books and then did a craft to go along with the books. Our readers came from the school, the community and the Forestry School. Ginger Tebo, Children's Librarian at the Watertown Public Library, organized the event with the help of many PTO members. The kids had a wonderfull time, the readers were wonderful and the PTO felt it was a very successful event. |
Clifton-Fine School Garden Last year the CFCS PTO established a Garden Committee chaired by Katherine Johnson. We accomplished a lot in one year. We applied for a recieved a grant from Garden Share for $500. We established a vegetable garden on campus. It consists of four raised beds, container plants, and tire gardens. We planted lettuce, radishes, sunflowers, turnips, beets, carrots, cucmbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, beans and peas. As an added bonus we had two grandmothers of students volunteer the time, energy and plants to establish a butterfly garden. Both of these gardens will be available to classes to enhance their science curriculum. |
